I concluded that this property was historic as a rare example of the Bay Area’s agricultural past. The house was owned by the Delucchi family, an early Redwood City family that operated a grocery on Main Street and raised crops on the family farm. There was a windmill and water tank at the rear. Many Italian immigrants raised vegetables on small plots of land during late 19th and early 20th century for sale to local markets.

Close up of the base for a water tank at the rear of the property.
